From 2013 to 2022, I managed the Tech Bytes blog at tech-bytes.net. In 2022, I made the decision to conclude this project and create something new.

So, why did I close down the site? Well, I originally launched Tech Bytes during my graduate school years, with a primary focus on writing about trends in the technology industry, particularly in the realm of mobile technology, encompassing topics like phones, tablets, and earlier wearables. Over time, I realized that the name “Tech Bytes” was a bit unwieldy, and it often led to misspellings or issues with the website link. (Lesson learned: Never choose a domain with a hyphen). Furthermore, the brand and legacy of the blog felt restrictive, as it didn’t adequately convey my broader interests in user interface (UI) design for software and mobile operating systems. I was eager for a fresh start.

Nonetheless, I take great pride in the articles I authored during Tech Bytes’ tenure. The blog consistently garnered thousands of annual visitors, and I’m immensely grateful for the readers’ ongoing support and words of encouragement. Additionally, I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to my wife, Jennifer, for her contributions as a contributor and proofreader.

Here, you’ll find an archive of some of my more notable articles. Many of the longer pieces have been republished on Medium, and I’ve included links for your convenience. I also have plans to upload the original PDFs for the remaining content in the future. If you’re interested, you can download a complete website archive from GitHub.
